AbstractRecently, in a model of heat conduction new dualities were discovered that lead to exact expressions for various correlation functions in the non-equilibrium steady state.
In the talk I will explain a recently developed systematic approach to duality in Markov processes. Duality functions arise as intertwiners between different representations, whereas self-duality functions arise by the action of an operator that commutes with the generator.
I will illustrate this approach with various examples from particle systems, interacting diffusions and population dynamics.
